Mendelssohn’s masterpiece of dramatic musical story-telling, delivered here with a hint of theatre to bring the drama vividly to life.
Mark Saberton as Elijah; Katherine Gregory as The Widow; James Micklethwaite as Obadiah, with The English Arts Chorale augmented by singers from choirs across Suffolk as the Children of Israel and the prophets of Baal.

Sir Stephen Hough returns to play Rachmaninov’s transcendental Third Piano Concerto in an all-Russian programme which includes whizzbang overture to his opera Ruslan and Ludmilla and Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony with its triumphant proclamation of joy coming out of darkness and despair.
