Free Community Concerts
Future community concerts will be advertised here, so don't forget to check back with us.
This year two free community concerts were specially designed to appeal to those who are older or less mobile, or unable to get to venues in the major towns to hear live classical music – but everyone is welcome.
Concerts for the community
and music for school children
At each community concert a group of players from Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra entertain the audience with an hour’s music, followed by refreshments and light bites.
As part of its community outreach project, players from SPO have also visited and performed in four Suffolk primary schools - Rattlesden Primary, Hadleigh Primary, Worlingham Primary in Beccles and Phoenix St Peter Academy in Lowestoft, where they introduced young audiences to classical music, aiming to inspire the young musicians and environmentalists of the future.
These events were made possible thanks to the support of Ridley Godfrey Foundation
and The Leche Charitable Trust, The Foyle Foundation, The Geoffrey Watling Foundation,
The Radcliffe Trust and The Vaughan Williams Charitable Trust.
